The front of the City of Joondalup Council building with the Memorandum of Understanding paperwork being held up in the forefront.

We have some AWESOME news for everyone, just in time for Christmas!

This week PCG signed the final copy of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the City of Joondalup, enabling us to establish a community garden at Gibson Park, Padbury.

This is a massive milestone for PCG and our community. Thank you to the City, Councillors, @caitlincollinshillarys and the Committee for helping get this document finalised.

We submitted our detailed plans to the City just under a month ago, so once these have been approved, the establishment of the community garden will begin. This will occur in the next few weeks, so please stay posted.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all

We would like to wish the people of the Padbury Community and surrounds, as well as our sponsors and supporters, a very Merry Christmas and

Happy New Year.

We give our thanks to everyone for their support in our journey to reduce isolation and loneliness throughout our community, and for getting behind the establishment of a community garden to create a meeting place, a wellness place, a place that belongs to everyone in Padbury to continue our work in advancing mental health.

We are so excited for 2024 and all that we know it will bring with it. We look forward to meeting more of you and seeing you in the garden!

Please have a read of our latest newsletter to catch up on everything going on with PCG.

Welcome to the Kambarang Season!

We finished the last season with our AGM and I would like to thank everyone who

attended. I would also like to thank the new 2023/24 elected Committee for

volunteering to be involved for the coming year. It is great to have the old team

back again, with some new faces to add to the mix as well as.

We have successfully presented our proposal to the City of Joondalup at two

Council Meetings in August. In both cases it was terrific to have so many

supporters in attendance, especially those that chose to make a verbal

statement. I arrived at the first meeting feeling nervous, but left thinking we made

a big step forward. The support we received from our Councillors and the

community proved to the City that we are serious about establishing a garden

with a focus of bringing the community together, with the aim of reducing

isolation and improving mental health. At the conclusion of the second meeting it

was unanimously voted that we establish a community garden at Gibson Park,

subject to an agreed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the City.

In summary, we will have an initial three year agreement with the City for use of

the land, subject to extension if everything is progressing as expected. We will

also have the opportunity to bring later phase items forward, should we be

successful in obtaining grants and approvals.
