At the heart of the Charity is our vibrant community garden,
'built by the community, for the community'
with the aim of bringing people together through a shared purpose and hands‑on learning. Located in Padbury, Western Australia, the community garden provides a safe, inclusive space that encourages connection to one another and nature, supports positive mental health, and reduces social isolation.
We proudly uphold practices that ensure all community members feel valued and safe, including First Nations people, those with exceptional needs, LGBTIQ+ community members, culturally diverse groups, older adults, families, and other underrepresented cohorts within the community. Guided by our commitment to inclusion, social good, cultural respect, and environmental stewardship, our events and community garden exists to create a welcoming and supportive place where every person—regardless of age, ability, culture, identity, or background—can gather, learn, contribute, and belong.
Padbury Community Garden Inc. are proud to be a registered community partner of Mentally Healthy WA – Act Belong Commit, actively embedding A‑B‑C principles into our programs to support positive mental wellbeing and encourage meaningful community participation.
Collaboration is central to our values, and we are privileged to work alongside a range of charities, community groups, and local organisations to broaden our impact, share resources, amplify community connection, and ensure each others programs reach and support as many people as possible.
Padbury Community Garden Inc. is a solely volunteer‑run, not‑for‑profit, registered charitable organisation, dedicated to strengthening community connection, fostering wellbeing, and nurturing the environment.
More than 'JUST' a community garden
Padbury Community Garden Inc. delivers a range of programs and initiatives designed to reduce isolation and advance mental health within the community. Some of these include:

Fortnightly
Sunday Garden Gatherings
relaxed community gatherings in the community garden that provide a supportive space for people to connect, participate in garden activities, share produce and knowledge, maintain the garden, and build friendships. These gatherings help reduce isolation, promote mental wellbeing, and strengthen a sense of belonging.

Garden to Kitchen Program
integrated into our Garden Gatherings, this newly developing program offers hands‑on harvesting, cooking, and healthy‑eating experiences for people of all ages, genders, abilities, and cultural backgrounds. It brings back the spirit of traditional community life—sharing knowledge, building intergenerational connections, learning practical food skills together and promoting healthy sustainable eating practices, all in the company of others.

Community Crafting
weekly creative sessions where community members come together to craft, chat, relax, and support one another in an inclusive and friendly environment.
PCG Volunteer Teams
a range of dedicated groups who contribute their time and skills to keep the garden thriving and ensure the charity operates successfully. Their work spans aspects of garden management and maintenance, community events, sustainability practices, funding, community engagement, and more.
